Axium Nanofibers is a material science company founded in July 2010. Axium’s patented nanomaterials platform was originally developed by Professor Yong Lak Joo and his team at Cornell University. Professor Joo envisioned that an advanced nanofiber manufacturing process could establish the basis for fabricating a diverse range of highly tunable nanocomposites made from both organic and inorganic materials. The Axium team has since developed an advanced electropraying or E-Spray process that was partially inspired by the work in nanofiber electrospinning. The E-Spray process has proven to further improve the performance and lower the cost of Axium’s core products, such as its silicon/graphene anode and its polymer/ceramic separator.
